Rise Primers · 10 — PvP Objectives and Progression
Win the objective. The ranks follow.
Two progression tracks that are constantly confused, the full official reward ladder, and Darkspear Islands procedure from the guild's own playbook.

The tracks and the ground
HonorThe currency
Honor is spending currency, earned from kills, battlegrounds, and PvP quests, with a bonus in the highlighted battleground during its holiday week. Epic upgrades require the blue item plus an Emboldened Seal, with rank eligibility — keep the existing blue piece until the upgrade process is understood (fact wf-0159). A beta report raised the Honor holding cap to 25,000; that figure is beta-reported, not in Blizzard's article text, so verify it in the live client (fact wf-0157).
Rank PointsThe ladder
Rank Points advance rank — they are not spent. Earned from battlegrounds and PvP quests, they climb 14 ranks under a weekly cap. Progress lives in Character, then the PvP tab: rank, Rank Points, weekly progress, and which rewards are purchasable (facts wf-0155, wf-0160). The PvP Season Journey adds weekly tasks granting Honor and Rank Points; three tasks per season also grant a Legacy Point (fact wf-0161).

Darkspear Islands15 versus 15, first to 2,000
Levels 30–60. Four control points generate score — more held, faster scoring — and a central flag can be delivered to a base you control. Queue through a capital battlemaster or at the faction bases: Horde's Darkspear Raiders base sits on the Barrens' Merchant Coast; Alliance uses the Theramore Expeditionary Force at Northwatch. The bases host reputation vendors and battleground quests; reputation rewards are separate from rank progression (facts wf-0153, wf-0154).
The classic battlegroundsShown both ways
Blizzard has confirmed Darkspear Islands for launch (fact wf-0149, official). Community and guide consensus also lists Warsong Gulch, Arathi Basin, and Alterac Valley returning on day one (fact wf-0150, community) — Blizzard's articles have not enumerated them. Plan around Darkspear; treat the classics as likely, not confirmed.
Field procedure The Rise premade way
Before leaving a captured base, confirm who owns its defense. Call location, approximate attackers, and the response required before the fight is lost — a vague request after you die is less actionable than a clear warning before the attackers arrive. A flag carrier needs a currently valid friendly destination, an escort, and someone watching whether that destination remains controlled; assign a replacement before moving the whole escort toward a new fight. When behind, identify which scoring source can be recovered with the players available. When ahead, maintain coverage and information. After the match, select one correction — earlier calls, better defender handoffs, a control ability preserved for an escort, retreating toward teammates — because a review that only says “more damage” rarely explains a lost objective. Not established by the primary material: a minimum number of hours to Rank 14, a verified launch composition ranking, or exact final diminishing-return rules. Nobody here will sell you those numbers yet.
