When does World of Warcraft: Forever launch?

November 4, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. PST — one simultaneous global moment: 23:00 UTC, 8:00 p.m. BRT, 11:00 p.m. GMT, midnight CET (Nov 5), 7:00 a.m. CST Taiwan (Nov 5), 8:00 a.m. KST (Nov 5), 10:00 a.m. AEDT (Nov 5).

What is Forever? Is it Classic+?

A new, permanent third version of WoW alongside Retail and Classic. “Classic+” is a community nickname; Blizzard's recap states verbatim: “This is not a mode, a season, or a new version of Classic.” It adds new zones, quests, dungeons and raids, reworked talents and racials, realmless rulesets, two-part names, and the Legacy, Camping and Transmog systems — and nothing carries over from Classic.

Do I need to buy the game?

No box purchase: Forever is included with a WoW subscription or game time. US subscription pricing is reported at $14.99/month ($12.99 on 6- and 12-month plans — secondary reporting). Optional packs add cosmetics, Skyborne access, and name-reservation eligibility.

Is there a WoW Token or a paid character boost?

No. Blizzard's stated position, as reported from interviews, is that Forever has no WoW Token and no paid character boost. (Community-reported, not from a Blizzard article.)

How do character names work?

Every character has a first name and a surname. Only the full combination must be unique within your region — two players can share a first name. You can hide your surname in the world via Nameplates options; it still appears in chat.

How does Early Name Reservation work?

October 27 – November 3, 2026, for owners of the Heroic, Epic, Collection or Collector's Edition packs (on the account they'll play). Up to 3 characters total across all rulesets. Reservation is character creation only — nobody plays before November 4. Full rules in the name guide.

Why was my name rejected?

Probably the filter bug: an over-strict restricted-name filter, acknowledged by Community Manager Kaivax, blocked legitimate names (including names containing “c-o-n”). A fix shipped with realm restarts — retry the name before you give up on it.

Do my beta characters carry over?

No. Beta and stress-test characters, names, guilds, levels, gear and gold were wiped and confer nothing. The only carry-over is a character identity created in Early Name Reservation.

Which realm should I pick?

None — Forever is realmless. You pick a ruleset: Normal, PvP, Roleplay, or Roleplay-PvP at launch (Hardcore comes later). There is no realm list.

Confirmed by Blizzard · Facts wf-0067

Can I group with friends on another ruleset?

No: group, dungeon and raid play is only within your own ruleset and faction. The one exception is battlegrounds, which may mix rulesets (Hardcore is fully enclosed). Pick the same ruleset as your group — this is the single most expensive mistake a friend group can make at creation.

Confirmed by Blizzard · Facts wf-0069

Can I play both factions?

On the PvP ruleset: one faction per account. On Normal, RP (and later Hardcore): both factions allowed — but there is no cross-faction grouping anywhere, and a guild lives inside one ruleset and one faction.

What is the level cap? Will it ever rise?

60, permanently, by design: progression is horizontal, with new content added inside levels 1–60 on a roughly four-month cadence. Blizzard's stated intent is that Forever is “not going to turn into a different form of Retail.” A design promise, not a guarantee.

What are the six new race/class combinations?

Gnome Priest, Human Hunter, Dwarf Shaman, Orc Mage, Troll Warlock, and Undead Paladin. The consequence: every class now exists on both factions — Dwarf is the only Alliance Shaman, Undead the only Horde Paladin. There is also one new race, the Skyborne, and no new class. All 56 combinations are in the matrix.

What is the best class for PvP?

Honest answer: nobody knows at level 60 yet. Kit-based community tier lists put Rogue, Mage, Warlock and Priest on top. The only measured dataset — the community Forever Open, a level-30 Horde 1v1 duel event of roughly 4,600–5,000 duels — put Paladin (62.8%) and Warlock (60.0%) first and Warrior last (38.5%), with Warlock taking 1st and 2nd in the finals. For battlegrounds, healers are the common community pick. All of it is level-30 duel data, not battleground or level-60 data. Both claims stay up, labeled community.

What is the fastest leveling class?

Community consensus from beta (levels 1–30): Hunter and Mage fastest; Warlock the safest solo; Warrior the slowest early. Full-route times are estimates — the working figure is roughly 100–150 hours to 60 — because Blizzard has published no XP-rate statement.

What are the best professions for gold?

Community consensus: two gathering professions while leveling (Skinning most passive; Herbalism feeds the Alchemy spike at raid time), then Alchemy + Herbalism as the level-60 gold pair once raids open Dec 9. No auction prices exist pre-launch, so every gold ranking is a demand-based guess. For PvP and raids, community lists put Engineering and Alchemy on top.

When can we raid, and what sizes?

No raids at launch. All three open December 9, 2026, at level 60, currently planned to reset weekly: Barrow Deeps (10 players, 8 bosses), Hyjal Summit (20 players, 13 bosses), and Onyxia's Lair (40 players, one boss — every raider carries the Drakefire Amulet). Full directory here.

Is Molten Core in Forever?

Not at launch, and not dated. The setting sits before Molten Core opens in-story; a reworked version has been discussed for later. Anyone telling you the Summer 2027 raid is Molten Core is speculating.

How much does a guild charter cost? How many signatures?

Not yet published. During the beta, a charter bug led Blizzard to temporarily allow hand-in with no signatures — do not quote any number for launch; none exists in the sources. When Blizzard publishes it, this answer updates.

Confirmed by Blizzard · Facts wf-0188, wf-0190

What is the character-per-account cap after launch?

Unannounced. A producer at PAX Australia reportedly said it is unannounced and that “unlimited” has technical limits. The 3-character cap applies only to the name-reservation window.

Known gaps the database still carries: the step-by-step class-mount quest chains, the Skyborne Druid forms, the new raid tier-set bonuses, the exact XP multiplier versus Classic, and per-item drop locations. Thrall will tell you the same thing this page does — not known yet — and then go and research it.
