Checked, not repeated.

The Rumor Desk is where Forever claims come to be tested against the guild's verified database. Every verdict below names its evidence, its confidence, and — when the sources disagree — the disagreement itself.

Rumor Desk verdict card — the claim ‘You get a 5-minute warning before a world refresh’ judged PARTLY TRUE

“You get a 5-minute warning before a world refresh”

PARTLY TRUEReported by reputable sources · Confidence in this verdict: 60%

A warning timer exists, but the desk's own sources put it at two different lengths. Until Blizzard publishes the value, treat both numbers as provisional.

Reports differ — named, not merged. BlizzCon panel quote says 3 minutes; a community handbook says 5.

Rumor Desk verdict card — the claim ‘Respecs will cost 100 gold’ judged UNVERIFIED

“Respecs will cost 100 gold”

UNVERIFIEDNot yet published · Confidence in this verdict: 90%

No price has been published. Blizzard said live respec pricing climbs quickly and drops only once a week — deliberately not cheap; the beta's 1-silver respec was explicitly temporary. Any exact figure, 100g included, is invented.

Rumor Desk verdict card — the claim ‘A guild charter costs 10 gold and needs 10 signatures’ judged UNVERIFIED

“A guild charter costs 10 gold and needs 10 signatures”

UNVERIFIEDNot yet published · Confidence in this verdict: 90%

Blizzard has published no charter price and no signature count for Forever. Charters exist in beta (Guild Master NPC, capital cities); a beta bug briefly allowed zero-signature hand-ins — a bug, not a launch rule.

“Blizzard kept the WoW Token out of Forever”

CONFIRMEDCommunity reports — not officially confirmed · Confidence in this verdict: 85%

Forever has no WoW Token and no paid character boost — Blizzard's stated position, as reported from interviews. Monetization is the subscription plus the optional Skyborne packs.

Rumor Desk verdict card — the claim ‘Raids are playable on launch day, November 4’ judged REFUTED

“Raids are playable on launch day, November 4”

REFUTEDConfirmed by Blizzard · Confidence in this verdict: 99%

No raids are available at launch. All three launch raids — Barrow Deeps, Hyjal Summit, Onyxia's Lair — unlock December 9, 2026, at level 60.

Rumor Desk verdict card — the claim ‘Rated arenas are in Forever at launch’ judged REFUTED

“Rated arenas are in Forever at launch”

REFUTEDCommunity reports — not officially confirmed · Confidence in this verdict: 85%

No arenas and no rated PvP in Forever: Blizzard's September 17 Q&A reportedly ruled rated PvP out; progression is the seasonal Honor/Rank track instead.

How a verdict gets made

A claim enters the desk, gets researched against the admitted database, and can only be published with a named decider, cited fact IDs that actually exist in the corpus, and a confidence tier. When a linked fact carries a contradiction, a flat CONFIRMED or REFUTED is refused — the verdict has to name the conflict instead, as PARTLY TRUE or UNVERIFIED. Money numbers Blizzard has not published (charter prices, respec costs) are capped at UNVERIFIED no matter how many guides repeat them. Heard a claim we have not checked? Bring it to the desk in Discord.

The desk works in the open.

New claims land in Discord first — checked, argued over, and verdicted where everyone can see the working. That is the whole product: a guild whose knowledge has a chain of custody.
