Name-Reservation Helper · Window closes Nov 3, 2026
Find a name worth keeping.
Forever characters carry a first and a last name, and the full combination is unique in your region. Generate combinations in Horde flavor, check them against the verified rules, and shortlist the ones you'd actually answer to.
Last verified: October 30, 2026
Click a name to add it to your shortlist (up to 10). First names come from flavor banks written for this tool. Every surname is an original construction in Warcraft style — Forever lets you choose your own surname, and famous canon family names (Hellscream, Doomhammer and the like) are deliberately not in the banks: those heroes earned theirs, and your character should earn its own.

What this tool cannot do
It cannot check whether a name is taken. Blizzard publishes no name-availability lookup, and anyone who claims to check for you is guessing. The full first-and-last combination must be unique per region — so a taken first name is fine, a taken combination is not. Shortlist several, reserve in order, and have a fallback surname ready: changing the surname makes a new, unique combination.
The verified rules
The window: Oct 27 – Nov 3, 2026
Early Name Reservation opened October 27 (North America 1:00 p.m. PDT; Europe 18:00 CET; Korea and Taiwan Oct 28) and closes at the end of November 3. Unlike launch day, the openings were not simultaneous. (Fact wf-0033)
The combination is what's unique
Every character has a first name and a second name. Only the full combination must be unique within your region — two players may share a first name. (Fact wf-0027)
Three characters. Total.
You may reserve for up to 3 characters across all rulesets — two on PvP leaves one for everything else. The cap applies only to the reservation period. (Fact wf-0035)
Pack owners only
You must own the Heroic, Epic, Collection or Collector's Edition pack on the specific account you will play. Beta access alone does not qualify. A subscription alone does not qualify. (Fact wf-0034)
Creation only — nobody plays early
Reserving creates the character identity that carries to launch. Some guides claimed the servers were up to play; Blizzard's position is creation only, with play starting November 4. (Facts wf-0036, wf-0037 — reports resolved)
Wrongly rejected? Retry it.
An over-strict restricted-name filter (acknowledged by Community Manager Kaivax) blocked legitimate names — even names containing “c-o-n”. A fix shipped with realm restarts, so a name that was wrongly rejected is worth retrying. (Fact wf-0218)
You can hide the surname
Your secondary name can be hidden in the world via Game Menu → Options → Nameplates → “My Secondary Name”. It still appears in chat. (Fact wf-0030)
